This is remarkable material. Some call it ‘Cats Eye’, some ‘Fiber Optic Stuff’ and some Ulexite. Ulexite is mined primarily in Russia, but is also found in quantity in Kern County, California. This is the same material used to make fiber optics cable. It has the same optical properties as the “TV Rock”, except it is enhanced to an even greater extent by light and shape. This mineral is actually made up of thousands of hair like strands, caused by the way the mineral crystallized. When looking at the side of the sphere, you see a band of light that seems to move faster than you are turning it. From the end, it becomes transparent and the band of fibers completely disappears. This happens because of the light being transferred directly through the sphere by the fibers (as with fiber optics cable).
